A poetic work, and prolonged ekphrastic engagement with Pablo Picasso's Blue Period paintings (1901-1904) . The storyline loops and spirals from city-symphony motifs to feverish carnivalesque activity to labyrinthine catacombs to ocean-crossings to No-place. There are echoes of the epic poem, but this story is not a hero’s quest: this katabasis journey consumes itself like a textual ouroboros.
